 For most athletic endeavors that involve some type of physical contact a mouth guard is recommended to protect the teeth and lips. During orthodontic treatment the teeth are moving so it is not possible to wear a tightly custom molded mouth guard.

Instead we recommend an over the counter mouth guard, loosely molded and it needs to be remolded with every use to accommodate the constantly changing position of your teeth.

These are available in most sports shops. Additionally we have some non molded mouth guards available in our office at no charge.
